Hints for commissioning of the hardware:



0. Log in as root.

1. When you are sure, that there is no short circuit in your circuit board, connect it to your serial line.
The red led should be lighted.

2. Create the scripts /etc/tty_ctrl/button1 to ..6 containing:
#!/bin/sh
return 0
3. Create the script /sbin/tty_ctrl/button7 containing:
#!/bin/sh
return 1
4. Start a new shell to show the contents of /var/log/messages:
tail -f /var/log/messages
5. Run tty_control on your serial device:
/sbin/tty_control /dev/ttyS1
The following things should happen:
- red led is out
- green led is on
- In your /var/log/messages the follwing should appear:
.. tty_ctrl .. Version:.. Started as Daemon
6. When pushing button 1 to 6 the following should happen:
- The yellow led lights on
- In your /var/log/messages the follwing should appear:
.. tty_ctrl .. Button: .. pressed. Executing /sbin/tty_ctrl/button1
.. tty_ctrl .. Execution of /sbin/tty_ctrl/button1 was successful
When pushing button 7 the following should happen:
- The green LED is off
- red and yellow LED are blinking
- In your /var/log/messages the follwing should appear:
.. tty_ctrl .. Button: 7 .. pressed. Executing /sbin/tty_ctrl/button7
.. tty_ctrl .. Error: Execution of /sbin/tty_ctrl/button7 returned: 1

7. Congratulations: You have done it.
Everything works fine, now you can enjoy tty_ctrl.

Tips zur Inbetriebnahme der Hardware:

0. Als root anmelden.

1. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich keine Kurzschlüsse in der Schaltung befinden. Anschliessend die Schaltung an die serielle Schnittstelle anschliessen.
Die rote LED sollte nun aufleuchten.

2. Erstellen Sie die Scripte /etc/tty_ctrl/button1 bis ..6 mit folgendem Inhalt:
#!/bin/sh
return 0
3. Erstellen Sie /etc/tty_ctrl/button7 mit folgendem Inhalt:
#!/bin/sh
return 1
4. Starten Sie eine neue shell, in der Sie sich den Inhalt von /var/log/messages ausgeben lassen:
tail -f /var/log/messages
5. Starten Sie tty_control auf der seriellen Schnittstelle:
/sbin/tty_control /dev/ttyS1
Folgendes sollte dann passieren:
- Die rote LED erlischt
- Die grüne LED leuchtet
- In der /var/log/messages taucht folgendes auf:
.. tty_ctrl .. Version:.. Started as Daemon
6. Beim drücken der Knöpfe 1 bis 6 geschieht folgendes:
- Die gelbe LED leuchtet kurz auf
- In der /var/log/messages erscheint folgendes:
.. tty_ctrl .. Button: .. pressed. Executing /sbin/tty_ctrl/button1
.. tty_ctrl .. Execution of /sbin/tty_ctrl/button1 was successful
Beim Drücken des Knopfes 7 geschieht folgendes:
- Die grüne LED erlischt
- Rot und Gelb blinken abwechselnd
- In der /var/log/messages erscheint folgendes:
.. tty_ctrl .. Button: 7 .. pressed. Executing /sbin/tty_ctrl/button7
.. tty_ctrl .. Error: Execution of /sbin/tty_ctrl/button7 returned: 1

7. Gratulation: Es ist geschafft.
Jetzt können Sie die Funktionen von tty_ctrl geniessen.
